Miniature slide has track width of just 2mm
IKO Nippon Thompson's LWL2 linear slide has a track width of just 2mm,
and rolling elements of little over half a millimetre diameter, yet it is
capable of carrying a 20kg dynamic or 40kg static load. 'Gothic Arch'
shaped raceways, both on the carriages and rails, provide a four-point
contact configuration that ensures a coefficient of friction of less than
0.004. The units can be specified for a variety of duties, including
clean room applications requiring special lubrication options and the use
of corrosion resistant materials and surface finishes.
