Ciba's new high temperature resin goes under the bonnet
One of the first applications of Ciba's new high temperature resistant
rapid prototyping (RP) resin was for the production of under-bonnet
components by French RP specialist, Materialise SARL. A new addition to
Ciba's 'Parts in Minutes' range, Ureol 5220 A/B withstands temperatures
up to 180degC and is resistant to deformation. It is a black system,
suitable for the production of automotive parts and domestic appliances.
Materialise SARL has used it to produce prototype parts for an automotive
water pump and under-bonnet cable ducting.
