Huco introduces 'Step-Beam' technology at Hanover
Huco showed its new Step-Beam coupling technology for the first time in
Europe at Hanover Fair last month. This provides both high torsional
stiffness and good radial flexibility - characteristics that hitherto
were thought to be mutually exclusive in a one-piece plastic coupling.
The technology has been adopted in the company's new Torq-Link coupling,
which combines the torsional stiffness of a straight beam coupling with
the lateral flexibility of its helical counterpart. Moreover, Torq-Link
has double the torque capacity of an equivalent helical beam coupling, as
well as greater torsional stiffness.
