Drones: are they worth the trouble?

In the February 2019 issue of DPA, I look at whether drone technology is more of a hindrance than a help.

I mentioned in my previous editorial comment that 2019 would be an exciting year for drone technology. Little did I know (as I wrote my last piece just before Christmas) that drones would be a big topic of discussion over the next couple of months...and not in a good way. 

I think you can all guess I'm talking about the report of two drones flying in and around Gatwick airport in December and the days of chaos that followed. More than 10,000 people faced major disruption with several airlines halting all flights temporarily. Just three days after, a similar incident occurred at Heathrow, grounding 1,000 flights.
