However, for more complex applications, or when the standard range of products does not completely fit the bill, Buttkereit is now able to offer an “On Demand” bespoke solution, tailored to meet the individual requirements of the application, on a quick turnaround and at a price close to that of standard products.

The Cable Entry On Demand concept offers the first cable entry system that is completely customisable in terms of size, shape and features. Configuration and pricing for individual solutions can be provided quickly, by submitting a sketch or CAD drawing.

As a bespoke solution, customers can specify the physical shape required for the cable entry plate, the size – ranging from just 1cm x 1cm right up to 1.5 metres x 3.0 metres, plus the number of holes, dimensions and pattern needed for the specific application. Cable entry plates can be produced to suit any combination of standard cables, with or without connectors, ribbon cables, power cable or pneumatic lines.

Innovative production in a highly flexible manufacturing process

The On Demand products are manufactured in a sandwich process from either V2A stainless steel or PE, however other materials can be used if required. The resultant products achieve a high degree of rigidity even with minimum thicknesses. The highly flexible manufacturing process used can accommodate all shapes and sizes, and easily produce complex cut-outs, filigree structures and thin cross bar features in any combination as required. Hole sizes range from just 1.0mm in diameter up to a maximum of 50mm diameter, and offer a high degree of strain relief and ingress protection levels up to IP69K.

The ability to have a bespoke cable entry design eliminates the potential for installation or in-service problems that might occur as a result of a compromised solution, where a combination of different standard products may have been used in an attempt to facilitate the requirements.
