Heyco has introduced two new plastic motion dampers to its range,
including rotary silicone dampers and linear air dampers. Suitable for
glove boxes, sliding drawers and CD/DVD ejection mechanisms, the rotary
devices contain a small quantity of silicone oil between the two active
surfaces, producing a shear torque of between 0.25 and 2.2Ncm, depending
on the grade of the oil. These dampers provide a constant damping action,
silent movement and are available with or without gears.
The linear air dampers provide linear damped motion in one direction,
while allowing free motion in the other, providing a stable damping
action over a wide temperature range. Heyco has also introduced new
push-push latches to complement the new motion damper range, which
provide a push-to-secure and push-to-release type action.
