Linear System Is Belt-Driven For Heavy Loads

Supplementing its existing rack and pinion system, Hepco’s HDLS (Hepco heavy duty linear system) is a belt-driven, vee-guide system that is capable of carrying loads of up to four tonnes. The guidance unit employs either 64mm diameter vee-wheels for standard use, or 95mm versions for higher loads, the base unit incorporating single-edge commercial vee-slides mounted on the beam, with the slides positioned at the outer beam edges. Between the two slides is a continuous 50mm wide AT20 belt, attached to the moving carriage (a 75mm belt is available for tougher applications). The belt is factory set but can easily be adjusted in situ.
