Motion control – much more than just the ability to stop and start!

This feature will examine two very diverse applications with the help of a UK manufacturer of motion control products – LG Motion UK Ltd.

The first case study involves a motion control system to assist with the precise positioning of components integrated in satellites.

In the
second example we will look at an application with a particularly novel XYZR gantry solution with force controllable vertical and rotary axes.

The
technology of motion control is quite neatly described as the systems which make things go up and down, in and out and round and
round – in a precise and controlled manner. Motion control systems will deliver linear movement often backed up by sophisticated motor and control
systems to move, position and stop the device in the application, illustrated by the following case studies.
