Turns An Aluminium Profile Into A Linear Slide

Hepco has introduced the 'Profile Driven Unit' (PDU), combining proven belt drive technology and 'friction-free' wheels with a slotted aluminium profile. The drive belt and carriage fit inside the slotted profile, effectively sealing the unit, while the guide wheels run freely without lubrication. A PDU linear system will run at speeds of up to 6m/s, and offer a load capacity of up to 600N in a unit measuring just 60x51mm in cross-section. The carriage plate of the PDU will accommodate the mounting of a second PDU unit, creating a compact, high-performance X-Y system. A choice of motors is also offered, delivering driving forces of up to 280N. A typical ac inverter motor, for example, will produce a linear force of 145N and speeds in excess of 5m/s. Optional tubular flanges allow most brands of motors and gearboxes to be mounted on the PDU system.
