Hepco has introduced a guide way called Utilitrak for linear motion
systems whose load capacity, stiffness and positional accuracy is less
demanding than for high-end systems. The new product features 'DualVee'
guide wheel and track technology, and comes in three variants: heavy duty
SW (steel guide wheels with steel aluminium track); medium duty PW
(polymer guide wheels and anodised aluminium track), and light duty DS
(belt driven actuated system).
Linear guidance is via a three-wheel carriage assembly that travels the
length of a U-channel guide rail, the DualVee concentric/eccentric wheel
arrangement allowing easy field adjustment of free-play, stiffness and
drag. Each carriage includes a standard lubricator that distributes a
light coating of oil along the length of the track, increasing the
system's load and speed capacity.
