Enhanced security features for multi-connection system

The WAGO Multi Connection System (MICRO and MIDI ranges) is now equipped with locking levers and strain relief plates designed to withstand high mechanical stresses and accidental disconnection.

The 2.5mm pitch female connectors from the MICRO range are now available with optional locking latches which, combined with the strain relief plate, ensure a safe connection even in demanding operation conditions. Male and female connectors can be locked together using the locking latches integrated into the sides of the female connector. This provides extra security, preventing unintentional disconnection by pulling on the conductors. The locking device and strain relief both increase vibration safety with the strain relief importantly providing the option of fixing the conductors as close as possible to the connector.

Additional mechanical safety is also provided by the new strain relief plates of the MIDI range of two conductor female connectors (5, 5.08, 7.5 and 7.62mm pitches). A cable tie is used to secure the conductors to the strain relief, which is fitted to the back of the connector. The plates can be fitted retrospectively or ordered as a factory fitted option.

The two conductor female connectors make possible the looping of conductors from one connector to another without interruption and without having to put two conductors into one clamping unit. The disconnection of one conductor does not affect the connections in the next connector. These WAGO units are now available with fixed locking of the male and female parts, another means of preventing unintentional disconnection. Again, the screw locking system increases vibration safety and provides a compact connection.
