The Vogel range of precision-made, cube-shaped spiral bevel gearboxes is
now available in the UK from Lenze. These units are built to fit easily
into machine configurations, thanks to their compact shape and the
provision of mounting holes on all six faces. Some ten sizes cover rated
torque from18 to 8,500Nm and gear ratios from 1:1 in increments up to 1:6.
A useful advantage of the cube shape is its strength. For example, a cube
of dimension 200mm will transmit 55kW at 1,500rpm. It is also very rigid,
which helps to reduce backlash. This is typically 15 arc minutes, though
4 arc minutes can be achieved on request. The Vogel units are available
with male shafts, input and output, or hollow shaft outputs, and the
inputs can be prepared for motor connection.
