Display specialist makes use of e-paper technology

With its latest voltmeter display, the PanelPilot SGD 21-B, Lascar Electronics has made its first use of e-paper technology.

This gives the display a crisp monochrome appearance closer to ink on paper, giving good readability even under bright sunlight. Its modest power requirements (2.5mW) mean the display is ideally-suited for use in battery-powered handheld instruments, with typical applications being thermometers, pH meters and gas detectors.

The display has a resolution of 250 x 122 pixels and is configured using Lascar’s PanelPilot B software, which is free to download from its website. The software provides six analogue and digital voltmeter apps to choose from, which can be customised to suit your particular application; select custom labels, scaling, dual alarms and a splash screen graphic on power-up, e.g. your company’s logo.

If you feel the SGD 21-B might be suitable for your project, download PanelPilot B software and try before you buy or access more information on the Lascar website. Lascar also offers a bespoke design service if you have more demanding app requirements.
