Partial Differential Equation Solver

Diffpack, a mathematical modelling tool developed by Oslo based Numerical Objects, is now available in the UK from Adept Scientific. This object-oriented numerical problem solving environment for partial differential equations (PDEs) provides a high degree of modelling flexibility, while maintaining the computational efficiency needed for real world simulation problems in science and engineering. The package allows easy modification and combination of numerical building blocks, so there are no restrictions on the types of PDEs that can be solved. Diffpack functions include low-level numerical and non-numerical utilities, tools for linear and non-linear algebraic equations, finite element methods, plus interchangeable components for meshes, fields and other PDE functions - all with interactive graphics. The kernel is supported by a range of add-on toolboxes, including adaptive mesh construction tools, tools for parallel computing, iterative linear solvers, data import filters and more.
