3D's new software for SLA users runs under Windows NT
3D Systems' new 3D Lightyear package is the company's first release of
part preparation software for the Windows NT operating system.
It combines the functionality of Maestro, its Unix based predecessor,
with the increased productivity and cost efficiencies offered by the NT
platform. Lightyear software site licences are being offered free of
charge to all SLA users with existing software maintenance agreements,
and all new SLA purchases comes bundled with the software at no
additional charge.
The product's capabilities include part layout, data verification,
repair, part support generation, file slicing into layers for building,
and conversion of files to formats compatible with SLA devices.
