Bollhoff Fastenings has introduced a pneumatic setting tool for applications where blind rivet nuts are being used to place a reinforced thread into sheet metals, profiles and hollow sections. Now using automatic force-control when 'pulling-up' the fastener from one side of the workpiece, the new design is pressure sensitive on the tool stoke to ensure a consistent setting, even when there is variable material thickness.
The P2007, is a stylish hand-held tool, operated by a single trigger movement and engineered for speed, reliability and ergonomic use. Once set-up for a given thread diameter, within an M3-M10 overall capacity, the installer can set as many as fifteen RIVNUT blind rivet nuts in a minute. A novel 'twist-to-set', colour-coded pressure regulator, changes the P2007 to set a different diameter blind rivet nut.
An auto-mount feature senses contact with the end of the mandrel and quickly spins the rivet nut up against the anvil. On setting, the operator simply maintains pressure on the trigger throughout the cycle, to achieve consistent results. All that¹s required is a pneumatic supply of 5 - 7bar pressure, with each cycle using 8 litres of air. The air supply can be connected to either side of tool, depending on operator preference.
