Gasket Materials Are Fda Compliant

Garlock Sealing Technologies' Gylon gasket material has now received FDA approval for use in pharmaceutical applications. The compliance statement, which is available on application to the company, covers not only the raw gasket material, but also a wide range of proprietary Garlock sealing products containing Gylon. Compliance was sought in the wake of increasing customer pressure to verify that animal derived materials are not present in the gaskets. Areas of concern included filler materials, colouring and branding inks. Gylon achieves the performance of PTFE gaskets, while overcoming the latter's mechanical limitations. introduced some 30 years ago, there are now many derivatives that meet a variety of industrial applications.
