With the ever growing demand for relays to have more power in smaller packages, Panasonic has been successful in developing a power type relay with the same dimensions of its CP relay of 14mm (L) x 13mm (W) x 9.5mm (H).
This 12VDC relay has two coil resistance options, the choice of which is dependent upon design criteria. With a pick-up voltage of 6.5VDC and a usable voltage range of 9-16VDC, this option that would be preferable for specifications where a lower pick-up voltage and an extended voltage range is required. However, if power saving is the main concern, it would be preferable to use the 450mW low power consumption type with maximum pick-up voltage of 7.2VDC at 200C and usable voltage range of 10-16VDC.
Due to the double pin terminals on the NO terminals and increasing the width of the COM terminal, this relay has a carry current capability of 35A/1h, 45A/2min at 200C and 25A/1h at 1100C on the 450mW type.
The CP power relay is capable of supporting a capacitive load of a 60Amp inrush current with a steady state current of 1Amp for up to 105 operations.
This IP67 sealed relay with cadmium free contacts has a typical initial contact resistance of under 5mΩ.
