Desktop label marking system

The latest desktop label marking system from Rofin-Baasel provides fast and efficient label production from a fully integrated laser class 1 system, together with a compact footprint of only 0.3m².

The fully integrated LabelMarker Compact encompasses both the technology and knowledge gained by Rofin over many years of development in the field of laser marking. Rofin’s tried and tested VisualLaserMarker (VLM) software, accessed using the built-in touch screen, provides an intuitive and easy method of defining the label contents. Labels can include alphanumeric (true type fonts), DXF and BMP graphics, barcodes and 2D matrix codes. With the label contents defined, the production process can begin and the operation of the system is achieved using the Rofin Control Unit (RCU), which is also accessed using the touch screen and provides straight forward machine operation.

The LabelMarker Compact accepts rolls of up to 300mm diameter with widths of up to 120mm and will produce high quality marking on Acrylate and PVC foil types. Foils between 0.1mm and 0.25mm in thickness can be processed The large marking field of 108mm x 172mm with a focal length of 254mm, allows many different label types and sizes to be produced from this desktop unit. A further demonstration of the flexibility of the system is the ability to “Kiss Cut” the label profile which allows the production of almost any conceivable label shape. Correct label feed is ensured thanks to a series of sensors which will detect the beginning and the end of each label. Designed as a - class 1 laser safety system, LabelMarker Compact does not require any additional safety considerations to be taken into account when using this system in the production environment.

The PowerLine E series of diode pumped solid state lasers are at the heart of the system and will ensure fast marking cycles on virtually all conventional label materials. The compact size of the system plus the fact that no external air or water supply is required means that this system is fully portable and LabelMarker Compact can be connected to a standard 230V or 120V power supply. If required, a TCP/IP interface can be provided which will enable the unit to be connected to external devices.

The LabelMarker Comnpact offers high reliability and uptime based upon Rofin’s extensive experience in the design, manufacture and ongoing support of industrial laser systems.
