3M’s diverse range of Rite-Lok sealants and adhesives now includes an invisible clear UV adhesive for the furniture and product design sector. With an invisible join, the Rite-Lok UV adhesive is ideal for glass, lead crystal and metal applications where aesthetics and ergonomics are a key priority.
“The Rite-Lok UV adhesive is a high-strength, invisible and rapid curing solution that gives a controlled cure when exposed to UV light,” explains Stefan Cubitt, marketing executive for 3M’s Adhesives business. “Designers and Engineers are relying on UV adhesives more than ever for invisible bonds. 3M believes that the Rite-Lok UV adhesive is right for the job.”
In addition to the design sector, the Rite-Lok UV adhesive lends itself to high-speed production-line applications, such as electronic potting, and to medical applications where the adhesive’s low toxicity is a primary benefit. The adhesive can also join rigid and plasticised PVC, polycarbonate, acrylic, most other plastics and stainless steel.
“Not only can 3M supply the adhesive, but our consultants can also advise designers and engineers on the right specification for a given challenge or application. 3M can also advise on UV Light Curing equipment,” concludes Cubitt.
3M’s extensive Rite-Lok industrial adhesives and sealants ranges are new to the company’s adhesives portfolio. The selection, which also includes Anaerobic, Cyanoacrylate and Structural compounds, is widely used by original equipment manufacturers and the maintenance and repair sectors in markets such as automotive, electronics, medical and general industrial.
