Motion control module
GE Fanuc has introduced a motion control module offering single point
programming and Local Logic support for its Series 90-30 family of PLCs.
The DSM 314 motion module can control up to four analogue servos or two
GE Fanuc digital servos plus one analogue unit.
The integral processor is capable of running user-written Local Logic
programs completely independently of the main PLC program, allowing
time-critical logic to be executed independently of the PLC scan rate.
All programs and configuration data are stored in the main PLC processor
and automatically downloaded via the backplane to the motion module on
power-up.
Other features include support for high speed position capture, flexible
axis configurations, enhanced I/O assignments and follower mode
enhancements, plus better parameter resolution and ranges.
