Amplicon has introduced a new isolated control board to its range of measurement and control equipment. The new PCI board has 24 general purpose digital I/O lines and provides isolation between control signals and the host computer. Designed for industrial and other harsh electrical environments such as factories, the isolation board provides protection for the host computer and reduces interference issues, to ensure consistent control and monitoring.
The PCI236i isolated control board incorporates additional functionality to that of the popular digital I/O board sold by Amplicon, the PCI236. Amplicon has extended the voltage capacity the board can switch to 24V, making it ideal for a wide variety industrial applications. The PCI236i offers three groups of eight channels. Each eight channel group can be specified to be suitable for input or output signals at time of ordering. This means you can order the PCI236i with a variety of combinations to suit your particular requirements. For example, 16 isolated input channels and 8 isolated output channels.
John Hayward, product manager of the measurement and control division at Amplicon, commented: “The introduction of this new isolated board to Amplicon’s line-up will allow us to fulfil more customer requirements, whilst still being able to offer great products at a reasonable price. The isolation board is a first for Amplicon and symbolises how the company is growing by expanding its hardware range to offer more of every solution.”
All of Amplicon’s data acquisition products are now available with drivers for Microsoft Windows Vista. Amplicon expects that its continued investment in high quality, market driven products will help it to achieve its aim of £10 million turnover in the next 2 years.
