Textile Cutting Using Ultrasonics

According to Forward Technology Industries, cutting thermoplastic fibre reinforced textiles using ultrasound provides a superior finish to that of more traditional techniques, and saves costs. The company has been developing its Rinco Ultrasonics range to meet these needs, and is now providing machines that can cut up to seven metres in a single sweep at rates of up to 60m/min. Generally, fabrics with a composition greater than 50% of thermoplastic fibres will accept the ultrasonic method of cutting. A smooth, clean and, above all, heat-sealed, non-fraying edge is achieved, which requires no further processing. Enter 341
