For price-sensitive data acquisition applications in which a flexible
feature set is not high on the list of priorities, Measurement
Computing's MCC PCI-DAS6013 card, at just £220, is a good choice.
Available in the UK from Adept Scientific, this PCI format card offers 16
channels, each with a 16-bit resolution, and sample rates of up to
200,000/s. Eight digital I/O are also available for the control of relays
and solenoids, or for monitoring switch and contact closures. The card is
functionally equivalent to National Instruments' PCI-6013 product.
*Also available from Adept Scientific is Measurement Computing's handy
PMD-1208LS interface for linking standard I/O signals to a USB port. The
device allows eight single-ended or four differential analogue inputs to
be connected, and offers two channels of 10-bit analogue output, a 32-bit
counter and digital I/O.
