Sla Resin For Functional Finished Parts

3D Systems is promoting the use of Cibatool SL7540 with its SLA 3500, 5000 and 7000 stereolithography machines. The resin creates components that mimic end-use plastics, and enables users to move quickly from three-dimensional designs to high quality, functional finished parts. The product was developed jointly by 3D and Vantico and is formulated to provide durability and accuracy at high prototype building speeds. SL7540's mechanical properties are similar to those offered by popular thermoplastics such as polypropylene, polystyrene or polyethylene, and it will tolerate drilling, threading, machining and polishing. Master patterns built using the new resin are capable of producing multiple moulds, even for demanding projects involving complex patterns, thin wall parts or elevated process temperatures.
