Long-life industrial motherboard

The latest addition to the BVM family of industrial motherboards is the PMSA, a MicroATX format unit, based on the Socket P pin-out compatible with Intel Core 2 Duo Mobile Mercom processors. Optimised for a broad range of embedded applications such as interactive clients, gaming, medical, POS, digital signage, surveillance, industrial automation equipment and other graphic intensive applications, the unit offers excellent performance-per-watt, is I/O-rich, offers impressive 3D graphics performance, strong I/O bandwidth and good reliability.

The PMSA is based on the Intel GME965 and ICH8M chipset supporting up to 3GB of RAM with a 500/833 MHz selectable FSB. On-board VGA is provided by Intel GMA X3100 technology and integrated audio uses the Realtek ALC888. I/O facilities are extensive: five RS232C, one RS232/422/485 ports, two Intel 82573L Giga LAN, 10 x USB2.0 ports, two IEEE1394 FireWire slots, three SATA interfaces, one IDE interface and a CompactFlash slot. Expansion slots are one PCI-Express X16/X1, one PCI-Express X1, one Mini PCI, 2 x PCI and 1 x ISA slot.

There is on-board 24-bit dual channel LVDS capability, a programmable 8-bit GPIO interface and a 256-level watchdog timer for system reset. The PMSA is designed using long life components wherever possible, providing manufacturing repeatability for three to five years from product launch.
