Minimising plant downtime is a critical aspect of production management for any company. In order to reduce the risk of downtime caused by incorrect pump selection, peristaltic pump specialists Watson-Marlow Bredel now offer users a free on-site pump trial.
The free on-site trial is designed to prove to pump users that a correctly specified peristaltic pump (which would be sized according to the required flow rate and tubing material chosen to provide the best life), could reduce costly plant downtime and wasted product, when compared to other pump technologies.
According to UK sales manager Ashley Shepherd, this latest offer from Watson-Marlow Bredel takes the risk out of changing to peristaltic from other pump types: “With flow rates from microlitres per minute up to 80 cubic metres/hr and delivery pressures up to 16 bar, plus a wide variety of tube materials including fluoroelastomers and thermoplastics, many users are now selecting our peristaltic pumps for tough process applications, where diaphragm, progressive cavity or gear pumps were previously employed. They need to have confidence that this is the right choice for them – and the free on-site trial makes this possible.”
Peristaltic pumps have a number of advantages over other pump types: they contain the pumped fluid within a tube and it never comes into contact with the pump, and the pumps do not require additional seals or check valves for their operation. In addition, they are able to self-prime and will run dry. At the end of a shift or when a different duty fluid is used, the tube can be removed and replaced within minutes - a new tube creates a new pump.
Confidence in the Watson-Marlow Bredel range is demonstrated by the five year warranty given to many of the pumps offered. Ashley Shepherd concludes, “Our pumps provide true value-for-life and we are keen to prove that to as many pump users as we can by offering no risk and no charge, on-site trials.”
