Evaluation kits help engineers simplify pressure sensor testing process

Honeywell announced a new cost-effective method for customers to test the capabilities of its sensors, allowing for faster and more efficient component decisions and a speedier product development process.

With the new sensor evaluation kits, engineers can perform a thorough evaluation of Honeywell’s TruStability pressure sensor series without needing to develop additional software code or spin a new printed circuit board. This helps them make more informed decisions during product development.

The kits allow for easier demonstrating and evaluating Honeywell’s TruStability RSC series as well as the digital output versions of the HSC series and SSC series board mount pressure sensors.

Engineers can use the kits, along with free Honeywell software, to interface with an Arduino Uno Rev3 microcontroller board. Sensor measurements are displayed on the user’s computer and can be recorded for further analysis. The sensors can be mounted directly on the development kits or connected remotely via wire leads to provide customers with a greater degree of flexibility for testing prototypes.

Honeywell’s board mount pressure sensors measure air/gas and liquid pressure with high accuracy and are often used in medical devices, such as ventilators, as well as heating, ventilation and air conditioning products.

The software to support the evaluation kits can be downloaded directly from Honeywell’s website at: https://sensing.honeywell.com/sensors/evaluation-kit.
