Enclosure Customisation - And A Little Bit More

Before it turned to Fibox for a customised enclosure, underfloor heating specialist, Begetube had been using standard wiring centres for its systems. The limited number of terminals and lack of features of these standard units were hampering installation and, with business growing, the company needed a more flexible solution. Fibox selected one of its standard off-the-shelf MNX injection moulded ABS enclosures, type 175/60 HG, and carried out a series of modifications to meet Begetube's specifications. This approach kept the costs well under control from the start. The modifications included some simple machining operations to introduce slots in the bottom and back of the enclosure for cable entry, the installation of Fibox-designed cable clamps, a mounting for the controller PCB, and screen printing on the enclosure lid. In addition to these modifications, Fibox assembled all the components, provided an instruction sheet for installers, ran a QA check on the assembly and then packaged each completed enclosure for shipping to Begetube. Fibox has provided us with a level of service and competitive price that we didn't think existed, says Begetube technical director, Rory Haigh. Throughout the project they have been exceptionally responsive and professional - and we still only have to deal with one supplier. The initial order for six hundred enclosures was supplied earlier this year. Since then a second order has been placed and the products supplied.
