Festo's cartridge seal device comprises an 'omega' profile flexible
synthetic rubber seal housed in a brass ring.
The cartridge requires only uniform machining of the valve bore and, when
the seals are pressed into place, the only accuracy issues are mounting
depth and radial alignment.
Festo claims a life of around 100 million operating cycles for its new
cartridge sealed valve range.
