Festo Adds Wireless Communications To Micro Plc

Festo divisional company, Beck has integrated a GSM modem into its latest compact front-end controller, the FC38, which offers 12 digital inputs, eight digital outputs, two serial interfaces and Ethernet connectivity. The unit uses a script programming language that allows short messaging service (SMS) messages to be sent and received for remote status interrogation or alarm state indication. The cellular package includes GSM 900 Phase II, V.110 ISDN and Group 3 fax.
