The Fastners Centre has introduced a low profile, one-piece quarter-turn
captive panel fastener from ITW Fastex that can be used many times over.
Offering a low cost alternative to metal latches, it is simply installed
by inserting its grommet end into a prepared, punched square hole in both
the removable panel and fixed structure of the assembly. The plunger is
then driven into the grommet by striking the fastener head with a hammer.
The fastener is manufactured from acetal and rated for approximately 40kg
tension and 56kg shear.
