Simplifying electrical design

Rittal will be showing the latest version of its electrical systems design software, EPLAN Electric P8, at The Machine Building Drives & Automation 2008 exhibition (Birmingham NEC, February 13-14). This computer-aided engineering platform offers both graphical and object orientation, plus complete compatibility with EPLAN 5 and 21.

Building on the timesaving benefit of EPLAN macros, Electric P8 now offers Macro variant technology with the ability to insert sections of circuits (macros) with up to eight graphical variants containing pre-engineered data. The macros can be transferred from project to project without having to modify and re-dimension circuit designs.

EPLAN Electric P8 allows you to make last minute changes by simply selecting the suitable variant rather than having to redesign. The data record remains constant, and there is less chance of errors. Users can also work simultaneously on the same project and instantly view the changes made by others in real time.
The choice of graphical or object orientation is particularly useful, allowing the user to choose the approach best suited to the current project or workflow, without having to commit in advance.
