The short-stroke DCW linear position sensor from RDP Electronics is a truly submersible range of LVDTs that is capable of measuring small displacement variations. The units are suitable for displacement measurement ranges of between ± 2.5mm to ± 10mm, and are capable of operating at pressures of up to 10bar. Alternative electrical connection options are available to extend the DCW’s pressure handling to 206bar.
DCW transducers are suitable for a broad range of wet and dirty conditions, including papermaking, valve and sluice position applications, structure monitoring and underwater cable laying. It is constructed from welded stainless steel and is offered with either a sprung or unguided shaft. A 4-20mA (2 wire) option is available, allowing the use of very long cables often associated with these applications.
