V1000 Drive released

RS Components has announced the release of the V1000 drive, and the CP1L PLC series from Omron, available to order immediately from rswww.com/automation.

Labelled the world’s smallest inverter and a revolution in inverter design, the V1000 drive from Omron is the result of years of experience, and is designed to give ease-of-use via an in-built operator panel. The drive also offers screwless terminal design and side-by-side mounting, which brings down both cost and installation time. This is achieved using a special alloy hybrid cooling fan, allowing multiple units to be mounted together without over-heating problems, saving a great deal of panel space. Maintenance levels are kept to a minimum, due to a patented design. The V1000 delivers optimum speed control and employs a dual CPU concept with a CPU device that is four times faster than those on board some inverters. Inverters can be replaced simply and quickly, due to a control terminal board memory - the new inverter being immediately and automatically updated with the current settings.

Frequency input and outputs are available to allow for speed-follower applications to be easily configured. In terms of connectivity, fieldbus communications include Modbus, Profibus, CanOpen, DeviceNet, Lonworks, CompoNet and Ethernet. Built for a lifetime of ten years maintenance-free operation, and with a guarantee of quality and reliability, the V1000 can be used in many applications and industry sectors.

Also just launched by RS, the CP1L series from Omron offers the compactness of a micro-PLC with the capability of a modular PLC. The series delivers all the functionality and flexibility needs of a controller, alongside the added advantage of a single platform, enabling simpler software integration. Using CXOne software with ‘plug and play’, the instruction set is fully compatible with larger controllers in the Omron range such as CP1H, CJ1 and CS1.

Benefits include a USB port with one optional serial port, motion functionality for drive and servo management, optional RS 232 and 422/485 serial communications, and a memory cassette for upload or transfer of programs. The easy-to-use CP1L controller combines compactness with efficiency for a wide range of applications.
