Low cost machine control for the OEM
Eurotherm Drives has introduced a cost-effective machine control package
based on its 631 micro servo drive, complete with integral motion
controller and I/O, a new servomotor range and simple operator interface.
The motion controller enables the drive to be used in speed or
positioning applications, while the new I/O module includes four
dedicated inputs and a further four ports that can be configured as
inputs or outputs in any configuration. The I/O can be daisy-chained
between drives, so that if a total of eight I/O are needed to be spread
across, say, three servo drives, only one module is needed.
The operator interface comprises a simple BCD thumbwheel with LEDs, that
allows the operator to enter a single variable parameter while viewing a
second parameter. Meanwhile, the new ac G motor series features exotic
magnetic materials for greater power/size performance, IP54 protection
and low heat losses. Control functions include point-to-point
positioning, electronic gearbox and cam profiling. up to 1,500 steps of
sequential motion control can be programmed using a Basic style language.
