maxon's new 'box of tricks'

maxon motor has come up with a ‘box of tricks’ that combines a motor, a sensor and a controller into one unit – packaged in a neat, compact, aluminium casing. It’s called the maxon compact drive MCD EPOS. The controllers are taken from maxon’s EPOS (Easy POsitioning System) range, while the motors and encoders are tried-and-tested, off-the-shelf maxon products. Together they form a highly dynamic, space-saving, maintenance-free positioning drive with good functionality and efficiency. The system delivers a maximum output of 60W.

A feature of the boxed MCD EPOS is its quick start-up procedure. It arrives optimally tuned and ready for use, and the need for wiring is minimised thanks to its CANbus connectivity.

A programmable version – MCD EPOS P – is also available, equipped with a processor and memory for stand alone operation. Both versions come complete with all the necessary software, free of charge.
