'Ok Google'

Pixel is the first phone made by Google inside and out. It comes built-in with Google Assistant, allowing you to have a natural conversation with your phone. Simply say ‘Ok Google’ or touch and hold the home button to speak to your personal assistant. Ask anything from what the weather is like, how busy the roads are or even what your schedule has planned. You can even describe a photo stored in one of your albums and it will find and display it. 

The rounded edges of the
phone make it easy to grip and Google have used 2.5D Corning Gorilla Glass 4 on the front display and back glass to accent the aerospace grade aluminium body. The glass on the back also features Pixel Imprint, so instead of unlocking your phone from the front, your fingerprint is registered at the back. You can even use it to access your notifications. 

Pixel has a 12.3MP camera, featuring bigger 1.55 micron pixels to help capture more light. The Smartburst feature takes a rapid-fire series of photos and automatically
selects the best one. As a novel opportunity, Google is including unlimited storage for original quality photos and videos at full resolution in Google Photos!

Using all these features on one device means the battery will need to last and charge fast; you can charge Pixel up to seven hours in 15 minutes.

Google has also unveiled a new product for the home: Google Home. Again, featuring Google Assistant, the speaker can help you achieve a wide
range of tasks quickly and easily. It’s as simple as using your voice to turn up the music, manage tasks around the house and turn on/off the lights.

‘Ok Google’ can bridge the connection between you and your favourite music. You can play songs and radio stations from stores such as Google Play Music, Spotify, TuneIn and YouTube. Google Home’s smart audio design integrates a high-excursion driver with a dual passive radiator design that delivers crystal-clear highs and deep lows for good quality sounds that streams over Wi-Fi. 

Google
Home can also tap into the Google search engine and give you real-time answers to all your questions. Chromecast is built-in so you can stream videos to a TV or play a video from YouTube. It will also support popular apps such as Netflix and Google Photos in the near future. Controlling your lights and thermostat is easy with home automation systems like Philips Hue, Nest, Samsung SmartThings and IFTTT.

You can have a Google Home speaker in every room in a variety of colours for approximately £100 each! They will be available in selected stores from November.
