The all-in-one remote 'power controller'
E-T-A has put an electronic switching relay, with self-limiting
characteristics, and optimised over-current protection similar to that of
a high quality circuit breaker into a single package and called it a
remote power controller. The 1048-8xx Power Module replaces several
components and their associated interconnections, and is available for
direct plug-in mounting in either in-line or cubic terminal formats. Both
styles are available to control a wide range of load currents from 1 to
25A (9-36Vdc) at temperatures from -40°C to +85°C without de-rating.
The new power controllers offer overload and short circuit detection,
with added protection against nuisance tripping. The load is
automatically disconnected under specified conditions and will not
restart before the unit receives a valid reset signal. Two LEDs provide
status indication: yellow for receipt of a control signal and red
indicating a group fault. The latter is triggered in the event of a wire
break, short circuit or overload.
