Amplifier increases precision of automotive presses

HBM’s latest FASTpress concept ensures increased precision and efficiency in modern automotive presses to meet the demanding requirements of modern assembly and production lines. HBM’s force and displacement sensors, installed at different assembly stations, can be easily connected to the MP85A FASTpress two-channel amplifier - a combination that provides advanced process control and offers high security at high pressing speeds to minimize production cycle times.

Specifically tailored to the needs of modern press and assembly systems, the FASTpress Suite software reduces set-up times and enables rapid start up as well as ease of handling. The software includes various customising features and powerful statistical modules.

FASTpress users can benefit immediately from online statistical analysis and production scheduling via touch screen. The software’s algorithms detect tool and machine wear to continuously improve the efficiency of presses.

Press operations, quality results and measurement curves are stored on the integrated memory card in the MP85A FASTpress, or directly in a PC. A standard Ethernet interface is available for maintenance tasks and for connecting presses to a control system. As an additional feature, mobile press monitoring can be achieved with a PDA device via wireless LAN.
