Foremost Electronics has introduced the Elma E33, a rugged and durable incremental encoder. It can be used in applications ranging from routine industrial automation to state-of-the-art weapon systems. Developed after years of research by precision manufacturers, The Elma Group in Switzerland, the E33 provides a versatile, low-profile encoder that meets the highest specifications.
Foremost Electronics, through its partnership with Elma, has gained a reputation for bringing reliable, high-quality, high-performance products into the UK and providing cost-effective applications for all sectors of the UK electronics industry.
The E33 incorporates: 16 or 32 detents standard resolution; robust metal housing with metal shaft; 1 million operations from IP167 to IP68 sealing; 11.5 x 12.3 x 4.9mm body size; impressive indexing feel with 2 or 3 Ncm constant switching torque; and operating temperature range of between -40ºC and +85ºC.
Supplied with or without push-button switches, and with optional IP68 front panel sealing, the E33 boasts a unique combination of ruggedness and an excellent indexing feel. Its versatile and scalable system platform means it can be used for highly individual, customer-specific applications, and supplied even in small quantities.
The E33’s shaft dimensions and shapes can be customised to meet specific application requirements, as can its indexing resolution and PPR. It is ideal for value and menu control; instrumentation and test equipment for aviation; frequency and channel setting for transceivers; user interface controls for medical devices; volume and menu setting for transportation control and entertainment systems.
