Rotary dampers avoid paper jams in fast sorter machines
A manufacturer of sorter machines is currently using Ace Controls' type
FRN-D2 rotary dampers to control the movement of documents into a
scanner. Hitherto, documents were fed to the scanning area and precisely
positioned against a guide wall by a small, spring-powered pusher, which
tended to nick the paper edge, leading to paper jams.
Ace's sealed, silicone-filled, polycarbonate dampers work in both
directions and delay the pushing of the documents so precisely that they
cannot leave the feeding track. They now reach the exact scanning
position every time, with no damage being caused to the paper.
