The smaller version of the igus's DryLin ZLW belt drive, DryLin ZLW-06-30, weighs just 1kg and measures 1m in length. It is ideal for handling lightweight loads, is practically silent, fast running, and despite its low weight, it is also extremely robust. Its sliding elements are made from igus’ iglidur J polymer, whilst the bearings are injection moulded from iglidur L250. The housing sections are made from sturdy plastic and the profile from hard-coated aluminium. All the connecting screws are made of stainless steel. A second version uses ball bearings for the deflection shafts, which makes higher traverse rates possible. Apart from these bearings, the axis is completely maintenance and lubrication-free ,thanks to the use of iglidur high performance polymers.
