Big brother is watching

ifm electronic Ltd launches new longer range photoelectric devices at budget prices
It’s not long since sensor market leader ifm electronic Ltd broke new ground with the launch of the hugely successful O5 photocell family. Now they’ve done it again with the bigger brother to the O5, called, you guessed it, the O4.

Aimed typically at conveying and general materials handling applications the O4 family already boasts among its number a remarkable device the O4H200. The O4H200 features background suppression allowing it to sense an object up to two metres distant, yet still distinguish the object from the background. A sensor with such a range could mean the end to retroreflective systems, only needed up to now to achieve that range without interference from the background.

Nevertheless, for greater ranges, the O4P200 will detect up to 18m on a reflector, and if sensing needs to be over a further distance still, the O4E and O4S will give you 25m.

Naturally the O4 is supplied in a rugged housing, with a simple potentiometer on the O4H, and no adjustment at all on the longer range retroreflective and throughbeam to minimise tampering.

The standard M12 connector rotates to allow connection at the back or from below. A wide range of mounting accessories rounds off the deal. And of course the price is remarkable, too!
