Contact-free dc-operated rotary position sensors

Macro Sensors has introduced the RS 1500-120 series of fractional-turn, contact-less rotary position sensors for measuring the angular displacement of rotating elements such as quarter-turn ball and butterfly valves, air flow dampers, and diverter gates used in packaging and postal sorting machinery. Available as the RSE 1500-120 with a 24 Vdc input and a 0-to-10 Vdc output, or as the RSI 1500-120 with a 2-wire 4-20mA loop-powered transmitter I/O, these units are adaptable to a wide variety of industrial automation and process control applications.

Although their shafts can rotate a full 360º, the RS 1500-120 rotary position sensors utilise contact-less inductive technology to measure shaft angle position over a nominal range of 120º with excellent accuracy and repeatability and exceptional reliability. These units exhibit a linearity error of less than 0.10% of full range output, have an IEC IP-66 environmental rating, and operate at temperatures from 0ºF to 185ºF (-20ºC to 85ºC).
