The flexibility offered by on-line training makes the learning process much more user-friendly. Lenze is also making a presentation at the Drives and Controls Conference on how new ideas can save large amounts of energy in the field of factory automation.
Each day a valuable track experience will be won in a free prize draw on the Lenze stand.
Lenze are introducing the new on-line training at their stand D330. It begins with the new i500 frequency inverters, also being shown for the first time in the UK. By making training on-line, participants gain as they can train at times to suit them and at their own pace without having to travel to a training centre. The i500 training modules are offered at three levels covering the basics and with modules at application/commissioning level and for Service Engineers. The modules cover the knowledge required by most customers, but they are supplemented by an optional workshop course for those needing further hands-on experience. Access is through the Lenze on-line training portal and screen simulations are highly realistic. Buttons can be pressed and data entered as if it was a real machine and the resulting motion is visible.
In the Drives & Controls Conference Lenze is presenting “Energy-efficient machines and their role in factory automation” on Wednesday afternoon. This explains how substantial energy savings are possible by “new thinking” – taking a more radical approach to machine processes. Examples are the handling of goods in a warehouse where optimisation of travel profiles can save 20 percent of energy costs, and a stacker crane where reusing braking energy can save 30 to 40 percent.
In addition to hands-on demonstrations of new products, visitors to the Lenze stand have the opportunity to win an exciting track experience. Each day a voucher will be given away in a free prize draw. Winners get to drive three supercars at their choice from five UK tracks. The choice of cars includes Ferraris, Lamborghinis, Aston Martins and Porsches – something to get revved up about!
