EMS is currently supplying the entire SKF linear actuator range with integral condition monitoring that takes the form of a 'traffic light' warning system. Using a simple system of three LEDs located on the actuator housing, the condition of the actuator is indicated by any one of three colours: green (safe to use), yellow (service or replace) and red (do not use under any circumstances). More detailed diagnostic information revealing the run time, as well as average and maximum loads, can also be retrieved from these actuators, revealing the true operational profile in each case.
