Amphenol has introduced RJFast, an Ethernet connection system for harsh-environment applications. It is claimed to be faster and more economical than other such products (including M12), as it offers performance to category 6. RJ Fast is capable of converting a standard RJ-45 cable into a category 6 Ethernet connector with a tensile strength of 70N, and 1000h salt spray test capability. It is rated to UL94V0 fire protection and has an operational temperature range from -40°C to +85°C.
