MINAS A6 servo drives: faster, compact & precise

Panasonic's new MINAS A6 series follows in the footsteps of the successful predecessor, the MINAS A5 series.

The A6 series has been improved further. At the same time compatibility with the A5 series has been maintained.

Other improvements and new features of the MINAS A6 series:

Compact design:

Thanks to the split core structure and a new housing, Panasonic have been able to reduce not only the length by 30%, but also the weight by up to 10%. Even the encoder design has been made more compact.

Modbus RTU interface:

An open serial communication protocol (RS232 or RS485)

High-resolution encoder:

The 20-bit MINAS A5 encoder (1048576 pulses per revolution = ppr) has been upgraded to 23 bit (8388608 ppr). Consequently the resolution of the new A6 series has been improved eightfold.

Advanced controller settings:

The new servo motors come with an even faster velocity response (3.2kHz), which means that the driver can react even faster. In addition, micro vibrations have been reduced considerably thanks to an improved reaction of the current regulation and linearity.

• Lower torque variation
• Improved vibration suppression during standstill under a static load
• Improved suppression of load variations

Compatible with MINAS A5 series:

Identical interfaces:  The same cables and connectors of the A5 series can be used for the A6 series. It is not necessary to store additional parts. If machines need to be modified or exchanged, connected devices do not have to be changed.
Same flange:  The motor in the machine is 1:1 interchangeable.

Improved oil seal:

Triple protection against dust and oil thanks to triple-lip oil seal.
