Dyson Airblade parts bonded with Araldite

Have you seen the new Dyson Airblade? It is the fastest, most hygienic hand dryer on the market and is powered by a digital motor which uses Araldite 2022 adhesive to bond polyester and polycarbonate/ABS parts. The motor is energy efficient and more powerful than any other hand dryer motor. In fact, it spins faster than a Formula 1 racing car engine. This means that the adhesive has to endure high demands without failing.

Araldite 2022 has good gap filling properties, and maintains a high bonding and impact strength at elevated operating temperatures. In the Dyson Airblade, the bonded joints need to resist 120°C operating and not be affected when being transported at potentially -10°C. The adhesive is tolerant to "less than ideal" pretreatment to ease your application. It is suitable for bonding ABS, PVC, polycarbonate, other thermoplastics, aluminium and steel. and has good sanding properties.

Araldite 2022 is available in cartridges and you can apply it manually using a dispensing gun, or as in the Dyson Airblade application, by means of a dispensing robot.
